lyrics

All this talk about a wall has got me thinking of my own. It starts with the 405 and collides with the 22. It curves up north, includes Bixby and Wrigley: our fair walled city. I'm aware of the irony: protesting isolation with a wall around our town to keep out the Other, but we're already under siege and I think it gets worse before any better.

When the Feds roll up with their sharpened claws, and state's rights hacks now back supreme clause, we're on our own. We may need to to stand our ground under banners that would once confound us. Whatever it takes to protect Long Beach from a tyrant's reach.

Sanctuary Now.

Whether brick and mortar, or 9th Circuit order, our wall can't stand too long. But you must remember: a wall is only as strong as her defenders.

When the Feds roll up and they say "It's done. Obey our rules. Your wall is gone and we are one." That's not how we roll in the 562.

Sanctuary Now.
