I know your type. You think that you will never get your way, so you just walk. Thought that no candidate matched your voice; you're an adult, so make a hard choice. Come on, get real! You were there. We were counting on you. Do you really think you're better off sulking and sitting this one out? Would you let your hero see your face now? You're embarrassed? I'm embarrassed! We're all turning red. You stood on the precipice and you watched the world burn. You think you bear no blame in this, well, it is yours. You say you had no voice in this, and that's your main concern. Refusal to speak is not the same as being oppressed. Place the blame. You're pointing fingers. The white collars have won again. The 1% have beaten us down, but it seems by just one percent. Come on, get real! You were there. She was counting on you. Do you really think you're better off grabbing you ball and heading home? Still the see the pro's of your protest? I don't claim to know the future, but pretty soon we'll all be seeing red. You stood on the precipice and you watched the world burn. You think you bear no blame in this, well, it is yours. You say you had no voice in this, and that's your main concern. Refusal to play has never ever won a game. Mostly, I'm jealous. To be so deserving of complete satisfaction must be swell. I don't even like myself that much. You stood on the precipice and watched the world burn. You say you had no part in this, but our scorn is what you've earned.

I remember the stupid things I did in my youth. I would turn into a super man, just to clean my room. But anyone who knows me knows that I didn't pick up a thing. I would retreat to my phone booth so I could spring triumphant again. Is that what's happening here? So enthused with the process that we've forgotten all about results? It doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter at all. Can we all agree that this just sucks? I remember the stupid thing I thought as a kid: my mom hung with dinosaurs because she once told me she did. Is that what's happening here? So quick to believe what's cool that we've forgotten all about what's true. It doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter at all. Can we all agree that this just sucks? We're searching for parallels to when we were kids. Is there some kind of link there? I suppose there is. Is that what's happening here? A fervent search for an answer. Our obsession: to keep asking why. It doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter at all. Can we all agree that this just sucks?

Sanctuary 03:31
All this talk about a wall has got me thinking of my own. It starts with the 405 and collides with the 22. It curves up north, includes Bixby and Wrigley: our fair walled city. I'm aware of the irony: protesting isolation with a wall around our town to keep out the Other, but we're already under siege and I think it gets worse before any better. When the Feds roll up with their sharpened claws, and state's rights hacks now back supreme clause, we're on our own. We may need to to stand our ground under banners that would once confound us. Whatever it takes to protect Long Beach from a tyrant's reach. Sanctuary Now. Whether brick and mortar, or 9th Circuit order, our wall can't stand too long. But you must remember: a wall is only as strong as her defenders. When the Feds roll up and they say "It's done. Obey our rules. Your wall is gone and we are one." That's not how we roll in the 562. Sanctuary Now.

Mediatation 02:34
We don't know where we're going, but we do know where we're from. So we guesstimate our courses by the things that we have done. History will judge us by the steps that we did take, and were we successful in being the change we wish to make. I've been posting more on social media, making my opinions known and airing out my grievances. I've been posting more on social media. I know it's made a difference.

You should guard your pride, consider keeping it inside. If, before, you couldn't admit things in public, maybe that should be your guide. Going by what this man claims he'll do, history won't look kindly on him or you. I'm sure that in your view, your celebration's right on queue. Take a moment, commit this to memory: there's more of us than you. Going by the notes and threats we've seen, the company that you have kept is obscene. I've tried to see it from their side, but I can't forgive or see through racist eyes. You can't claim surprise at supporting a bigoted man when you cast your vote alongside of the klan. A gold jet leaves for Washington today, carrying a man who spells Donald with 3 Ks.

about

Ray Gun Solace Norwalk, California

After the demise of Long Beach's indie-pop powerhouse, The Lyrics Game, Dan Howe started Ray Gun Solace as a project more rooted in the upbeat stylings of the midwestern emo scene of the 90s. This project became a mostly studio-oriented endeavor once Dan got involved with The Natural 20s. ... more
